What has been this company's layoff history in recent years?

How to Use

Interviewer: Now, you can ask me some questions if you'd like.

Karen: You answered most of the questions I had during the interview, but there is one thing that I am curious about. What has been this company's layoff history in recent years?

Interviewer: This company is very stable. We have not laid off any staff for 10 years. The last time that we had to lay off some employees was back in 2008. As I am sure you remember, the economic situation at the time was horrendous. There was nothing the company could do.

Karen: I understand. Many companies had to lay off employees at that time.

Interviewer: That's right. This company values its employees and the last thing we want to do is lay people off. This company will only lay people off as a last resort.

Karen: I understand. Thank you for answering my question. I don't have any other questions for you.

Interviewer: Well, thank you for coming in today. I will contact you by the end of the week to let you know the results of the interview.

Karen: Thank you. Have a nice day.

Interviewer: You too.
